From 02/01/23 - 02/28/23 WHY IS PET DENTAL CARE SO IMPORTANT?When you take care of your pet's teeth, you improve their quality of life as well. When your pet has bad breath it can be an indicator of dental disease. Dental disease can lead to broken and rotted teeth and can even affect internal organs. Did you know that periodontal disease is one of the most common medical diseases for cats and dogs? By the age of two, 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats have some form of periodontal disease! The AVMA recommends that pet owners brush their pets' teeth every day, or at least several times a week. Diet and good dental habits make a difference so make sure to talk about it with your vet.
Clean teeth means fresh breath and better snuggles! In addition to brushing your pet's teeth every day, scheduling your pet to have a dental cleaning once a year is one of the most important things you can do to help maintain your pet's good health. When you come to Tracy Animal Hospital for an annual exam, our caring veterinarians will only make a recommendation for a pet dental cleaning when they believe it is necessary. We believe in keeping great veterinary care accessible and affordable ! |
